Questions and Structure
The Survey is in Three Parts
- A self-completion
questionnaire for adults (193KB) 15yrs and
over, distributed to over 1,100 households
throughout the Parish, with the Isle of Wedmore
News.
- A self-completion questionnaire given to every
child at Wedmore First School (aged 5-9 years),
along with a competition to design the
project’s logo.
- Six focus groups amongst significant minority
population sub-groups: teenagers, elderly people,
farmers and people whose families have lived in
the IoW for generations.
Response Rates
Both self-completion parts of the Survey had excellent
response rates:
- The adult survey returned 795 completed
questionnaires, a phenomenal response rate of
34.5%. This very large sample, representing such
a high proportion of the 2,500 adults living in
the Isle of Wedmore means that this quantified
data is very ‘robust’ - i.e. the
findings have an extremely high level of
statistical reliability.
- From the 228 children at the First School, we had
28 completed questionnaires - a response rate of
12% - and each was beautifully clearly written
and accompanied by some stunning Pictures and
Logo designs.
